چکیده

We show that for general linear groups GLn(q) as well as for q-Schur algebras the knowledge of the modular Alvis-Curtis duality over fields of characteristic l, l ∤ q, is equivalent to the knowledge of the decomposition numbers.

We obtain the structure of weight 2 blocks and [2 : 1]-pairs of q-Schur algebras, and compute explicitly the modular Alvis-Curtis duality for weight 2 blocks of finite general linear groups in non-defining characteristic.

The ALVIS Document Model for a Semantic Search Engine

ALVIS researches the design, use and interoperability of topic-specific search engines with the goal of developing an open source prototype of a peer-to-peer, semantic-based search engine. Our approach is not the traditional Semantic Web approach with coded meta-data, but rather an engine that can build on content through semi-automatic analysis. This paper describes the ALVIS document processi...

Specification of Embedded Systems Environment Behaviour with Alvis Modelling Language

Alvis, a modelling language for concurrent systems, combines the advantages of formal methods and practical modelling languages. Even though Alvis has its origins in process algebras, instead of algebraic equations, it uses a high level programming language for the description of agents behaviour and a graphical language for the modelling of interconnections among agents. An Alvis model can be ...

Practical Approach To Modelling And Verification Of Concurrent Systems With ALVIS

The paper presents a practical introduction to the modelling and verification of concurrent systems with the Alvis modelling language using the α system layer. This version of Alvis is the most universal one. It is assumed that each active agent has access to its own processor and all agents perform their statements concurrently. All layers of an Alvis models are shortly described in the paper ...
